We're in the testing phase for upgrading all of our Windows 7 Enterprise and Professional machines up to Windows To save the most time, we're attempting to go with the latest build Windows 7 Enterprise: The upgrade states that we are attempting windows 7 pro in place upgrade to windows 10 enterprise free download upgrade to Professional, and as such will not allow the apps to remain installed. Windows 7 Professional: The upgrade allows you to choose which OS version you are wanting to upgrade to and will update to Windows 10 Enterprise without issue.
I'm not finding any information on why this is happening to these Enterprise machines or what the difference is between upgrading Professional and Enterprise machines are that is causing this issue.
I was able to get around this by downloading the version instead, and noticed that when I save that ISO, it saves with the correct name format for the Enterprise ISO and the in place upgrade works windows 7 pro in place upgrade to windows 10 enterprise free download expected and allows you to keep files and apps.
This should be a simple fix. Microsoft just needs to correct the download link so that you can actually download just the Windows 10 Enterprise ISO and not Pro.
