I have seen many different threads about this problem but what happened to me recently was that after the latest Windows 10 update, my Outlook calendar got screwed up. It looked like 20 different calendars had been activated at the same time. Now what I had before the view reset was a calendar view that was perfect for me. But now that I reset the view, I cannot get the same old view back which annoys the hell out of me.
This is way too close as I now have to scroll up and down to see everything. If I reduce the zoom level, then I cannot chose to go to e. That view is even worse because everything is tiny and it shows me in addition the hours from midnight to midnight which is just worthless.
I can confirm that I had a view that was in between those and did NOT show me unnecessary times like 1 am but instead I believe I saw everything from 7am to 11pm or something like that.
I experimented also with the work time hours under options but this did not change anything either. Since this was working before the update, it has to be possible to bring this view back. But how!? I've tried to replicate your concern here on my end, and here's what I've found out. Then it will automatically change the interval to 60 Minutes. Can you try to do the same thing on your end, and update me with the result? You may play with the zoom level and intervals depending on your preference.

I experimented with moving the zoom as you suggested. It then automatically changes the interval to 60min. I tested also other zoom levels like 97 or 98 but basically it doesn't do anything and changing the interval manually, yields the same result also with these tests.
The work hours that I have listed currently are from to If memory serves me correctly, before the view reset I had something like to or something like that. I tested if screen resolution affects it and I moved the calendar to my second screen.
